Flexi-Heat Dew Shields - The Heat is On!Until now, standard unheated dew shields could only prolong the onset of dew formation. Depending on your geographic location, a simple dew shield may be all that is required. (Dew shields are also great for blocking stray light from reaching your optics.) However, in moist climates, dew can still creep up on you within a short period and your viewing session is over. Why not add some heat? Our Flexi-Heat dew shields direct the heat right to your optical tube assembly, thus eliminating any chance of dew formation. Guaranteed! What makes it work? The source of heat is a thick film heater manufactured for operation at 12 volts. Meade #670 Dew Shield Compatible Flexible Dew Shield for Meade Etx-60AT, Etx-70AT Telescopes

by ATOZstars

Review & Description

Dew Shields (dew caps) trap stagnated air in the front of the telescope. The temperature of the stagnated air is slightly higher and is enough to prevent dew from forming. Dew shields can be use as a shade to block stray light from entering the telescope or during daylight torrential viewing. Stay light lowers image contrast. ATOZstars Flexible dew shields are made of black close-cell light weight foam rubber sheeting, which is non-reflective and a good insulation material. The foam rubber sheeting forms the cylindrical shape with Velcro. The dew shield rubber sheeting is slightly elastic which allows a snug fit on the telescope tube. The dew shield can slide forward as dew shield or slide back onto the telescope tube on most telescopes to protect the telescope from accidental scratching of the telescope tube. The flexible dew shield can be store away easily by roll up tight, lay flat or stays on the telescope. Rigid dew shields are difficult to store especially large ones.

Product Details

• Brand: ATOZstars
• Model: MDS-60

Features

• Meade #670 Dew Shield compatible flexible dew shield for ETX-60AT, ETX-70AT
• Flexible dew shields are made of non-reflective, flexible, light weight foam rubber sheeting.
• Flexible dew shields will not crack or dent like rigid (metal or hard plastic) dew shields.
• Flexible dew shields can be stored easily rolled up, lay flat or stay on the telescope.
• Flexible dew shields work better than rigid dew shield because foam rubber insulates better.

Orion Dew Zapper for 127mm (5") Cassegrains

Orion Dew Zapper for 127mm (5") Cassegrains
by Orion

Buy new: $49.99 $39.99
2 used & new from $39.99

Review & Description

With Dew Zapper, you'll never have to stop observing to remove condensation from the front plate of your Schmidt-Cassegrain or Maksutov-Cassegrain. An unprotected corrector lens will radiate heat, quickly cooling to below ambient air temperature, allowing dew to form. Dew Zapper gently replaces lost heat, bringing the temperature of the corrector lens back above the dew point. Dew can't form, and you never get "heat wave" disturbances like those caused by warm-air blowers and heated dew caps. The flexible, fiberglass-reinforced heating element straps securely in place with a Velcro fastener. Runs on 12-volt DC power. Plugs into a car cigarette-lighter receptacle or a field battery, delivering up to 20 watts, 2 amps. All models include a 10' cable.
